Ogun, firms train youths in digital marketing

Ogun State Government in partnership with tech giants, Microsoft, Google, and Meta, has unveiled its plan to train youths in emerging technologies and enhance the digital economy.

The Chairman, Senate Committee on Information and Communication Technology and Cyber Security, Senator Shuaib Salisu, disclosed this, according to a statement on Friday, during the official inauguration of the training at OgunTechHub, Abeokuta.

Salisu said, “The empowerment would be an opportunity for Small and Medium Scale Enterprises and youths who want to be self-reliant and get equipped with relevant technology skills enabling them to upgrade to digital marketing.

“This programme would be done through GetFundedAfrica Technologies in partnership with Microsoft, Google, and Meta and it would revive the economic situation in Nigeria because the state has the potential to drive the programme to achieve the desired goal.”

Also speaking, Special Adviser on ICT, Mr Dayo Abiodun, called on beneficiaries to get registered, trained, certified, and start working immediately.

On his part, the co-founder of GFAT, Mr Adebowale Omololu, noted that the state was chosen among others because of its business-friendly atmosphere.
